You Can Have it All through Balance and Understanding
Kama (The World of Desires)
Out of the four aims of human life – Artha, Dharma, Kama and Moksha – Kama (all desires) can be a double edge sword and often the cause of unhappiness for many people.
Understanding Kama for your own health and happiness is important.
You CAN have it all—money, a big home, a big car, a successful job, fame, relationships, love, power and all the other worldly desires.
According to the Indian Philosophy it is all available and allowed. That is why there are many deities, for example:
- Lakshmi – Goddess of Wealth
- Dhanwatri – God for Ayurveda and Health
- Krishana – God of Wisdom
- Kamadeva – God of Love and Desire
- Ganesha – God of Protection
- Shiva – God of Transformation (Destroyer and Creator)
You can fulfill all your desires (Wealth, Love, Sensuality, Fame, Power, etc.) but your Artha and Dharma MUST be in balance.
The reason for unhappiness within is often due to unfulfilled desires, as a result of our Artha and Dharma being out of balance.
Difference between Kama and Karma
Kama and Karma are NOT the same thing. Karma is the action we take that can help us (good karma) or not help us (bad karma) in achieving our dharma (the cause and effect principle). Kama is all desires, not only sexual desires.
